Yes. Every house sells VAT-exclusive, so the profit is after 15% VAT on the price, plus the house’s buyer’s premium (5% at GoBid, Auction Nation, Auction Operation and Nedbank MFC, none at WesBank, per lot at Burchmores) and its document and admin fees (about R2 000 – R3 400). Aucor and Park Village announce their premium per sale and Burchmores’ terms are not published, so those are estimates. The profit also takes off transport to Pretoria (a flat, estimated R1 500) for a car that cannot be driven home — one the house lists as a non-runner, or a Code 2, 3 or 4 (a Code 2 may not go on the road until it is re-registered); a runner is driven home, so it has none — and about R2 000 for licence, registration and roadworthy (a Code 2’s are in its repair estimate).
